Softissues #1

Made up of 27 contributions, Softissues seeks to rethink conceptions of ‘softness’. They take issue with pejorative definitions, reconstitute the term, and render it anew, to softly illuminate pathways into possible futures. You will find them in dialogue and debate with each other across topics, formats and media, including visual artworks, essays, fiction and poetry.

One of the key features of the publication is that it’s unbound. We did this to allow for a freedom of engagement, and hope that our readers will spread the pages out and create their own unique curations – or even hang a page or two on their wall.

This publication is a labour of love, carefully brought together by holobiont, a creative organism and studio that exists to shift imagination and culture towards social and ecological balance. We collaborate with others to co-create cultural artefacts, host events and happenings, and always aim to redistribute cultural power outside of the mainstream.
